19 of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been earned on hard courts
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev claimed his initial title for 882 days with victory over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a challenging period, winning just a single victory at the big events and undergoing a meltdown at the US Open.
The player's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serving in especial - led to him dropping out of the elite rankings and finally parting ways with long-time coach his previous coach.
Presently training with his coach and his other coach, the tennis star has consistently advanced in the past month - culminating in a closely contested three-set win over opponent Corentin Moutet.
It is the player's initial championship since the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard court after March of 2023.
The win also signifies he has won 21 championships at twenty-one different competitions.
"It's the first time I have attended a tournament with my both daughters simultaneously, so to win a championship is especially meaningful," said tennis professional the champion.
"This victory is in dedication of my younger daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I won when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The tennis star, the past champion, had failed in his previous six finals, comprising in Halle earlier this year.
Medvedev's retrieving play style and frequent outbursts on court had caused commentators to wonder if his capacity to perform at the elite level was concluded.
Yet the athlete has altered his approach in the past month, making an effort to come to the net and compete assertively, backed up by an enhanced serving game.
Medvedev fought back from a break down in the initial set against the tricky Moutet, taking 4 of the last five exchanges to gain the advantage.
Both players exchanged break points in the following set before the Frenchman, attempting for his maiden tour title, seized the initiative to create a third set.
Moutet defended four early opportunities in a close deciding set before the champion won the break to that score to secure the win.
Suitably, Medvedev clinched the title with a shot at the net area, with the Frenchman incapable to handle a volley after over two and a half hours.
